Over the past few days, Kevin has had some minor incidents with his heart that have concerned the doctors. As a precautionary measure, Kevin will be set up with a temporary external pacemaker later today. This will make sure his heart rate remains at a steady level.
This is a relatively minor procedure, but we wanted to let everyone know because Kevin may not be available for visitors later today.
Kevin has a number of procedures ahead of him this week. Unfortunately, the timing of these procedures is unclear since the recovery time for each procedure determines the timing of the next. We will try to keep you as updated as possible. We still encourage visitors — we just ask that you check with us at the waiting room before going back to see Kevin. One of us should be back there throughout visiting hours (11-8).
I’m sure all of you have seen by now that the police have the suspect in the case, Christopher Easter, in custody. We are so grateful to the Philadelphia Police for their work finding him and taking him off the streets.
Stop us if we sound like a broken record, but we have been overwhelmed by the amount of positive support Kevin and our family have received from all of you. It’s heartening to know that there’s so much good in the world despite the evil actions of one individual.

Kevin, you have captured the heart of Northern Liberties.
So glad that the suspect has been apprehended. Obviously, it’s not going to make Kevin healthy again, but I’m glad that he and the rest of your family can now focus on what’s really important: Kevin’s complete recovery. You all are in my thoughts every day. Thank you so much for the constant updates. It means a lot.
We are so glad to have the shooter behind bars…God is good and I Know He is right there with Kevin and the family…I pray for wisdom for the doctors who are taking care of Kevin. You will remain in our prayers…Keep the faith and looking up….May God Bless you all …Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; Do not be afraid; nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
